Taking a child into your home can be a very challenging and significant process. It requires a lifetime of commitment. Often, when a child is adopted, they may have some identified needs. However, sometimes there are unknown needs that may come to light after the child has been adopted. Special skills and services may be required to adequately address those needs. Many children have difficulty bonding and trusting others even when they are in a safe environment. Even in a healthy, stable home, adjusting can be a difficult and continuing process.
